Summer Camp

KidWrite summer builds on and adds to the skills your child has been working on in school. We’ll take a look back to be sure they have the skills they covered last year. We’ll take a look forward to be sure they’re ready for the new school year.

Our summer curriculum incorporates Common Core standards as well as 6-Traits for
stronger writing. In addition to individual work, the different age groups will work on projects during the overall session. We’ll also have some FUN!

The older kids will also discuss what makes good writing. They’ll write various types of material, discuss the books they’re reading, learn how to analyze literature, and work on individual projects they choose.

The younger kids will have a variety of activities related to Language Arts. There will be writing, discussion of what makes good writing, short plays they put on using their storytelling skills, listening to a story and talking about it, being Word Detectives and discovering new words, making nature journals, etc.
